Will the 6G iPod be born September 12th?

Hot iPod News has inside information that Apple, true to its gala way of doing things, is inviting members of the press to a "Special Event for New Apple Products" to be held at a yet-to-be announced location in Northern California.

The invitation is non-specific as to the type of products Apple will be showing, and interestingly falls on the same day as the opening of Apple Expo in France - which Apple had publicly declined to open with a keynote speech. Apparently, the plan is that attendees will join the California bunch via video conference.

Gather 'round and get a good seat while you still can boys and girls -- Something VERY BIG is going to happen in the Apple camp in less than 11 days!

Will it be the much anticipated 6G iPod? Will it have a larger display with a touchscreen virtual click wheel, will it be wireless? How about rumors of full-length blockbuster movie downloads at the iTunes Music Store? And let's not forget about the recently hinted-at iPhone .... Oh boy! Oh boy! My nipples are getting stiff just thinking about the possibilities!

Im going to put my bets on the announcement of full length movie downloads. This would be very appropriate for the launch of the brand new 6G iPod video player! I am not so sure about the iPhone just yet though - I think Uncle Steve wants to build the anticipation a little longer, and besides, it will leave the option open for another special event in this last quarter of 2006.

Whatever Steve Jobs has in store for us on September 12th, we can be guaranteed it is going to be nothing short of awesome! This is something that Apple has down to an artform.
