Hollywood wants share of iPod video playSunday, October 16, 2005 OK ... so Apple launched its new iPod video player on Wednesday, and now Hollywood's actors, directors, and writers unions have voiced concerns that their members will see residuals for the 'exploitation of their work'. "The announcement Wednesday unveiling the Apple Video iPod represents the latest chapter in the ongoing technological evolution of our industry," said a joint statement by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the Directors Guild of America, the Screen Actors Guild, the Writers Guild of America East and the Writers Guild of America West. Apple has already signed a content deal with Walt Disney, parent company to the ABC Television Group, to allow fans to download and watch episodes of their favorite programs such as 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Lost' the day after the initial airing of the programs thru the iTunes Music Store. The new Apple iPod video player can store up to 15,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or up to 150 hours of video content. Powered by dBLOGGER | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
