Free iPod Video ConverterSunday, October 23, 2005 OK ... so you got your hands on a new fifth generation iPod, also known as - although incorrectly so - the Video iPod. You've already downloaded a few episodes of "Lost" and "Desparate Housewives", but now you want to put a few videos from your hard drive on your video iPod. The new iPod plays back video only in QMP4 or H.264 formats, so you are going to need an iPod video converter program to convert your MPEG, AVI, WMV, DivX or XviD videos. Apple Quicktime Pro will set you back $30, but does a very good job converting video. For those of you looking for something on a student budget, there is a free iPod video converter In my test videos, the Videora ipod video converter did a good job of convering AVI, and MPEG videos, but proved a little more difficult with converting WMV videos, which is not surprising really - that Apple's rival is not going to easily convert into something you can play on your video iPod player. If you do not have $30 to dish out on Quick Time Pro, than I recommend the free iPod video converter from Videora. With a bit of practise, you will be converting your own video collection for use with your ipod video player. Videora even has a user forum where you can look for help using the iPod video converter should you need it. Powered by dBLOGGER | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
